This is a Kurdish Bidjar carpet from Northwest Persia from the late 1800s. The variation of the Paisley (Boteh in Persian) design which is considered the “seed of life” in the Eastern culture on a cream background make this truly a masterpiece of design and color. The geometric form of the border in bright colors adds to the beauty of this wonderful piece of weaved art.
