One in a pair (1249 and 1250) of jacquard machine loom woven hunting textiles panels, northern European manufacture, late 19th century. Each panel taken from a famous Renaissance series of twelve woven tapestries, The Hunts of Maximilian, which were designed by Bernaert Van Orley (ca.1528-1531), originally woven in Brussels, in the Dermoyen workshop (1531-1533), originally woven in wool, silk and metal-thread.
