The Qashqai tribes have kept their tradition of moving to highland pastures in the summer where the weather is cooler and lowland fields in the winter where the weather is warmer. Extremely unique rug. The center of the field is a flatweave (kilim) with animal design forms similar to Sumak needlepoint woven into the field. The border is a piled rug with geometric and animal form designs. A beautiful piece as a wall hanging to show the tribal art of Western Persia.
