The antique Mahal Sultanabad rug from the early 20th century has an overall design that consists of large geometric forms in beautiful bright colors of red, blue, pink, green, brown set in a red field. The border also has geometric forms in similar colors in a dark blue background. The Ziegler Mahal Sultandabad carpets woven in Persia from the mid-1800s have become world renown and are very desirable because of their color scheme and open designs.
