Kerman Vase Carpet
A room-size Kerman Vase carpet from the mid-1900s. The apricot field with an all-over trellis of leafy vines, palmettes, and vases issuing floral sprays within an indigo flowerhead and palmette border. Colors can range from ivory, blue, and magenta to a more golden and saffron cast.
The world-renowned Kerman Vase carpets that were woven in the 16th and 17th centuries are considered masterpieces of fine Persian weaving art. Fragments of those beautiful carpets are not in museum collections around the world.
