A Persian Farahan area rug from the mid-1800s. Beauty, sophisticated design, and palate of natural dyes brought together in this 3rd quarter of the 1800s rug. The Ferahan rug with the Persian Garden design has an extremely fine weave. The rug has a red color field with a very large and extended central medallion covering almost the whole main field in a saffron yellow color and accent colors of pink, blue, and green. The primary border is in dark blue with beautiful floral designs in wonderful colors of pink, yellow, blue, and green. The color combination especially the use of the yellow saffron color in the field adds to the richness and the beauty of the rug.
