The Ferahan rug with the Persian Garden design from the last quarter of the 19th century comes in an extremely fine weave. The primary field color is saffron yellow with vines and flowers in red, blue, green, and yellow. The central medallion in a dark blue field with designs in yellow, green, blue, and red. The primary border is in rust color with rosettes in green, yellow. pink and blue. The rug with this fineness and use of material and color is extraordinary. The color combination especially the use of the yellow saffron color in the field adds to the richness and the beauty of the rug.
