Beautiful antique Persian Bakhshaish carpet from the last quarter of the 1800s. It has an allover pattern in an abrash burgundy color field that contains large geometric patterns. In exceptional condition at over 100 years of age, this stately Persian Bakhshaish has a luminous wool quality with a sheen that simply shimmers. This elaborate version of the traditional Herati design is meticulously rendered, offering great clarity and movement throughout. The use of the saffron color in the narrow inner and outer borders adds tremendously to the beauty of this fine carpet.
