    This is a Kurdish Bidjar carpet from Northwest Persia from the late 1800s.     Dhurrie Kilim

    A series of triangles in teal green, dark red, bluish purple, black and bright orange are arranged in a zigzag pattern down the center of the field. The charcoal border with repeating ivory diamonds. The top of the rug has more earth tones and muted colors whereas the backside has brighter colors as shown in the photo. Because the kilim weave the rug can be displayed and used on either side depending on the design needs.

    Karabagh

    The runners from Karabagh region of the Caucasus are rather rare. This design of this rug is a series of seven large connected diamond shapes interconnected by smaller diamond forms set in a field of rich brick color. The border is smaller geometric shapes in bright red, blue.green, yellow. The rug has a date 1313 (Islamic calendar) weaved in it corresponding to 1895 AD.
