Agra
Antique Indian Agra from the last quarter of the 1900s. The field has a Mogul "Garden of Paradise" design with cypress trees, birds, and flowers. The cypress tree is considered a universal symbol of immortality and is often used in the weaving of Persian rugs. The Agra has a very tight weave and wonderful wool with a beautiful palette of colors. The rug has a cream color field and a gorgeous saffron color primary border with a design of leaves and branches. Truly a gem of design.
