Caucasian Rugs (2ft x 3ft to 10ft x 15ft)

The term Caucasian Carpets refer to the small area rugs that come from the Caucasus region.  The term "the Caucasus" refers to the region that borders around the Caspian Sea in Northern Persia which includes independent countries of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Dagestan.  The region borders in the south by Persia, on the north by Russia, east by the Caspian Sea and west by Turkey and the Black Sea.  The tribes have a great tradition of village carpet weavings that goes back centuries and each has its own design and color scheme which are very distinct from one another.
