    Qashqai

    Description: The Qashqai tribes have kept their tradition of moving to highland pastures in the summer where the weather is cooler and lowland fields in the winter where the weather is warmer. This beautiful runner shows the traditional three diamond design in a field that is formed by the typical design of animal forms and plant forms that are around the tribesmen. It has a gorgeous border with a design of animal forms. These features bring the sense of nature and what they see every day into the design of the rug.

    Tabriz rug designed in the geometric format of old Heriz rugs from NW Persia from earlier in the century.     Tabriz

    An extremely fine weave Tabriz in floral design which is considered a more “formal” design from the Tabriz fine workshops. The finer rugs use silk for the foundation of the rug which is the case here. In addition, there is an extensive use of the silk in the pile of the rug making the rug almost all silk rug. The central medallion and the corners because of all the silk used shimmer under the light.

    Karabagh

    The Karabagh carpets from the Armenian region in Azerbaijan in the Caucasus are very desirable by the collectors and people that are familiar with the Caucasian weaving styles. The three geometric forms that cover the center of the rug is made up of a number of concentric stars. The border in red with geometric designs adds to the beauty and uniqueness of this rather “large size” Caucasian.
