    Bakhtiari rug in natural colors including the camel hair and field and white border. The Bakhtiari tribes of western Persia (Shiraz region) have a tradition of long tradition of making rugs using natural dyes and very colorful rugs. This rug is unique in being subtle and somewhat similar to a Turkish Oushak in colors and design.

    This beautiful Kurdish Bidjar rug from late 19th century in overall design Herati pattern with blue field and cream border. The beautiful border with flower design (“gol farang”- foreign flower) is in the tradition of French Aubusson of 17th century which the antique Bidjars are known for.

    Dhurrie Kilim

    A series of triangles in teal green, dark red, bluish purple, black and bright orange are arranged in a zigzag pattern down the center of the field. The charcoal border with repeating ivory diamonds. The top of the rug has more earth tones and muted colors whereas the backside has brighter colors as shown in the photo. Because the kilim weave the rug can be displayed and used on either side depending on the design needs.
